Take care of your skin and nails – Well-kept skin and nails look beautiful bare. Consider maintaining a regular skin routine. Don’t forget to use SPF to help skin stay hydrated and protected. Yes black girls you too! For some reason we always think we don’t use sunscreen unless our skin is light but that’s as far from the truth as u can imagine. You got protect that melanin girl!! When it comes to your nails, keep in mind they don’t always have to be painted and if they are please stop walking around with those chipped nails. Lord yall be killing me, its looks so trashy and cheap! Nail polish remover is $1 invest in some thank you.
Do you hair– I cant stress this one enough. You are who you present yourself to be. Please ladies lets walk out of our homes with some decency. I mean hey I know how it feels to have “untamable” hair sometimes, but they do sell these things called hats. If those aren’t your thing maybe invest in a turban, just please stop going to the grocery store looking like you just got bust down. You shouldn’t look like your kids are stressing you out. Invest time in your hair the same way you invest time into useless activities you indulge in during the day.
ALWAYS keep a pair of sunglasses– Sunglasses can instantly make you look put together, even if you don’t have time for make-up they will keep you looking hot ready for whatever the day throws at you. You can never go wrong with the timeless ray bans style. They look good on pretty much every head shape.
Invest in Quality Pieces and Make sure they fit– When your shopping for your wardrobe make sure you are choose quality garment pieces. Its quality of quantity. Stores like Marshalls, Tj Maxx, and Macys are just a few of the places you can go to get great quality clothing at decent prices without breaking the bank. Once you find these pieces make sure they fit your body type. Make sure your wearing your size. Its nothing more unattractive then a woman who is in denial about what size she is. Embrace your body and love it!
Set some goals for yourselves ladies. Whether short term or long term devise a plan and stick to it. Once you focus on you and your future everything will come into place. You can change your entire life in as little as year as long as you have determination and are willing to put in the work. Do you have a schedule that you follow? Try this, take 5-10 mins in the morning to just reflect on what you want to accomplish for the day. Close the social media apps and open that to do list. Start small and work your way to accomplishing bigger goals. Get in the habit, make your goal reflection apart of your daily life. People always say “oh I wish I could do this or I wish I had that” DON’T WISH! You are in control don’t forget that! You get to decide where u want your life to go and it’s never too late. Every day is a new beginning, a fresh start. Start today! You got this!
She Has High Standards
Where you choose to set the bar is how you choose to be represented. A woman who values herself knows who to let into her circle. Not everyone should be able to get that close to you. Don’t be so accessible. Associate with people who will elevate you and grow alongside you. Sometimes that may mean cutting off folks you’ve known for years and that’s ok. It’s no beef, we just on different paths.
She Values Her Appearance
I can’t stress this enough. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “dress for the job you want not the job you have.” The same with life, present yourself how you want people to address you and this has a lot to do with your outer appearance. They say looks don’t matter, but they do. We live in a judgmental ass world. No, it’s not fair but reality is, people treat you better the more presentable you look. So why settle for anything less than the best treatment?
She Speaks With Meaning
Words are powerful so make sure you use yours to conquer. Be able to hold an intelligent conversation with confidence. Everyone loves a good debate, but don’t be petty. Pick your battles, some things just shouldn’t even be worth your time or energy. Choose your words wisely and if the conversation isn’t up to your caliber, excuse yourself because a lady always knows when to leave. Besides we don’t argue with peasants.
Educate yourself
Never stop learning!!!!! One thing no one can ever take always from you is your knowledge. You have to understand the importance in being educated in multiple fields. Knowledge is power. There are so many different educational outlets now days. Read a book, sign up for a free webinar, or even seek out a mentor. So much to learn so little time, so what you going to choose to do with yours?
Manage finances
My least favorite of all time, those damn finances. This is a very important aspects of life and one of my biggest struggles. You have to know how to manage money, how to make money, and know that investing and saving are important parts of life. Budgeting is a great way for you to experience all the things in life you enjoy.
Mind YO damn business
This has to be one of the most important points Im going to touch on. Mind yo damn business. Stop worrying about the next person and what they have going on, always in drama and other people’s lives, because at the end of the day it doesn’t educate you, it doesn’t put any money in your pocket, if anything its draining and manipulating you. When you spend too much time enduring negativity you will shortly be sucked into that clique. You don’t want to be that gossip girl that’s always talking but never making no moves. We want to advise and uplift ourselves and the people around us. Stay away from those toxic vibes. Besides the only people that sit around and talk about other people are folks with no goals or ambition so they try to live off yours and try to break you down in the process. Some people admire attention more than progress. Don’t be a victim to this.
Prioritize health
I can’t stress this enough ladies. We not spring chickens any more. We have to pay attention to what we put in our bodies. (I’m talking about the bums you all be dating too) Make time to work out, it’s not always about losing weight, working out gives you energy and can help lower your stress level. You should care about what foods your consuming and what energy your mate is releasing into you as well. Growing up I wasn’t educated on fitness and health but I have the opportunity now and I’m taking full advantage of it. You only get one body, one chance.
You can literally feel when it’s time to move into the next chapter of your life. As this year ends and we all begin our new journey next month. Don’t use too much energy dwelling on past experiences, failed relationships, or loss of opportunity. It’s time to move forward. Time to catch all those new blessings. Claim that new job! Claim that new home! Claim financial freedom! Nows the perfect time to devise a plan and put your brand new life into perspective. Nothing that happened yesterday matters. You fat, so what workout. You hate your job, well get a new one! You feel like your relationship is at a dead end? Well bust a u-turn and ride into the sunset baby! The world is yours. Claim it! They say life is short but it isn’t, it’s long as hell. So make sure what you do today benefits you tomorrow. Your happiness isn’t a option it’s a priority. This year let’s not make a news years resolution, let’s set new life standards. What are you worth to you?

I rarely take pics for social media but when I do it’s one of my biggest struggles. So I came up with a few tips for folks who may be having the issues I’m having. And y’all know people don’t play about their social media pics!
1.Lighting
The way the light hits your skin can be a vital aspect of your photo. Natural lighting is best! Go outside and explore, make use of your surroundings.
2. Knowing What Your Phone Has To Offer
“Use your tools” you guys. Set up the timer on your camera. Play with those filters and extra features your phone has. Practicing your angles and becoming comfortable with your facial expressions is everything. I usually take at least 10-15 photos before finding one up to my standards. I always say “the more pictures your take the more options you have.”
3. Don’t forget to smile.
You can never go wrong with a gorgeous smile. One of my personal attributes, a captivating smile is definitely my go to. When you smile say “money” instead of “cheese”. It’ll give you a more natural smile, it allows your mouth to slightly stay open and come across more authentic.
4. Don’t rush.
I feel like everything we do this day in age is all about “how fast it can get done”. Take your time, don’t rush the way you portray yourself to the world. When your taking test photos just relax. Don’t just post what you like, post what you love!
Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.
I know, what could be better that a steaming plate of fries, gravy and cheese curd? Fries, gravy, cheese curd and bacon, that’s what! Throw in some fresh shallots, chilli, and a splash of roasted bone marrow and duck gravy, and we turn this popular French-Canadian dish into a something sublime.
During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
There’s nothing better than a warm bowl of pumpkin soup on a cold autumn day. Combine your roasted pumpkin with some onion, garlic, vegetable broth, and a few spices, and give it some time to simmer away. Pair it with a few slices of fresh bread to turn it into something sublime.
